To obtain City of Lexington public records, complete the following online Public Records Request Form. Each request must contain specific and adequate information as to the desired public record(s). The City Administration Office will gather and provide copies of the information requested as promptly as possible and within the order received.
Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute (NCGS) Chapter 132, the City of Lexington makes available to the public all records in its custody and control that are defined as “public records” under NCGS §132-1. All requests are reviewed by legal counsel prior to release and may necessitate additional time.
Depending on quantity of documents being requested, payment may be required in accordance with the City's adopted Fee Schedule, as well as obtaining a signature of the requester prior to release of documents.
