The Uptown Lexington, Inc. Board of Directors announced the cancelation of the 2020 Christmas parade on October 15, 2020 with the following statement: 

“The Uptown Lexington organization has had the privilege of presenting the annual Christmas parade for the City of Lexington.  Unfortunately, the opportunity for holding events that includes large gatherings are not currently available due to the state and local efforts to control the Covid-19 pandemic. 

With these ongoing efforts in mind and discussions with neighboring communities, the board of directors has voted to not present the 2020 Christmas parade.

This is in keeping with our goal of promoting events that are safe as well as festive.  We eagerly look forward to once again, promoting events that highlight the Uptown district in a safe manner once large gatherings are advisable.
