City of Lexington Tropical Storm Debby State of Emergency Declaration
- City crews have been preparing for Tropical Storm Debby with 5 to 7 inches of rain expected in our area between now and Friday evening with potentials for periods of heavy rainfall.
- The storm is now predicted to move more northerly in direction, bringing it closer to the Piedmont and increasing our chances of rain accumulation.
- Preparation from City crews have included optimizing streets for water flow by ensuring that stormwater drains culverts are clear for water flow. Utility Services teams including streets and stormwater have scheduled extra crews to be on call during and after the storm.
