Davidson County Economic Development Commission
Assists companies who are expanding and relocating to the Davidson County Community. The DCEDC helps communities achieve their economic development goals and support measures to improve the quality of life for all Davidson County Citizens.

Lake Thom-A-Lex Recreation Authority
Enforces rules, ordinances and regulations adopted by the Cities of Lexington and Thomasville in conjunction with Davidson County for operation of a jointly owned waterworks reservoir system at Lake Thom-A-Lex. The Authority consists of one elected official from the Cities of Lexington and Thomasville and Davidson County. In addition, the elected bodies appoint one citizen who resides in Davidson County. Members of this authority also constitute the Water Quality Advisory Committee.

Lexington Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board
Authorizes under state law the operation of liquor control stores and the sale of spirits within the City.

Lexington Housing Authority
Operates three public housing neighborhoods and administers subsidized-rent programs to provide decent, affordable housing for citizens with low incomes.

Lexington Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
Reviews policies and programs providing a compre-hensive year-round program of recreational activities in conjunction with outstanding parks, playgrounds and facilities.

Lexington Planning Board and Board of Adjustment
Makes recommendations on all matters related to the physical development of the City and protects the City's historic resources while the Board of Adjustment hears appeals and variances to land use regulations. Of the nine Board members, three must have demonstrated special interest and have experience and/or education in history, architecture, archaeology or related fields. Members attend training each year in historic preservation practice and principles.

Promotes attractions and accommodations to enhance travel and tourism within the City of Lexington.

NC Firemen's Relief Fund Board of Trustees
Manages a fund provided by the Department of Insurance that are used to destitute firefighters and their families in the case of injury or death. Each year, every fire department in the state is eligible to receive funds based on a percentage of property insurance premiums collected. Seats in the board are elected by city council.
