City forces in the Electric Department have completed the installation of Uptown Lexington's new CityWiFi medallions. Placed throughout the heart of Uptown Lexington, the eye-catching medallions add artistic flare to the area; while serving as a visual reminder to visitors and citizens that they can stroll the streets of Uptown Lexington and "surf" mobile devices. Enjoy the soft glow of backlit decorative signage while venturing out to an evening event Uptown!

The outdoor wireless internet service covers more than twelve blocks in Uptown. Generally speaking, CityWiFi coverage area spans from 3rd Street on North Main to 3rd Avenue on South Main; reaches east running along Salisbury Street; and reaches west running along State Street with a slightly broader reach on West Center Street.
