Health Equity Conference in August

Post Date:07/26/2022 1:43 PM

The City of Lexington and the Human Relations Commission are excited to host the first Health Equity Conference with community partners. This event aims to bring awareness to the health crisis in the community and bring positive change by closing equity gaps in health care access.

The conference sessions on Day one will consist of two learning tracks – System and Individual. Registration for this event includes lunch, keynote speaker, and the choice between any of the sessions in either of the tracks. Continuing Education Credits will be available.

Day two will be a Health Equity Fair at Lexington Senior High School. The day's primary goal is to provide information, resources, supplies, and tools to equip our community to live healthier lives across Davidson County and surrounding areas. The focus is on bridging inequity gaps within our health care systems. Therefore, the conference emphasizes mental health, chronic disease, and other health concerns, as well as resources in the community. Saturday will be a fun day for families and individuals of all ages to experience.

If you would like to participate and be a vendor/have a booth at the fair, please complete the form below by August 1st. You will be responsible for providing your own table and set up items. Please reach out to Michelle Howard by phone, (336) 243-3232 or email, michelleh@medicalministries.org, if you have any questions or concerns.
