Lexington Utilities Maintenance

Post Date:10/25/2017 4:30 PM
Public Utilitites logoDon’t be surprised if you lose power for a short period of time next week. Lexington Utilities has to perform maintenance on the Wallburg Substation on October 29th and 30th. This will create some power outages, but Utility workers hope to keep the duration of the outages as short as possible and they want to apologize in advance for this. According to Construction and Maintenance Supervisor, Jeff Jones, these outages are necessary to keep our contractors safe as a crane removes two old transformers from the substation to be scrapped.

On Sunday, October 29th there will be an outage between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. for approximately 10 to 20 minutes. On Monday there will be an outage between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. This will affect two main circuits feeding out of the Wallburg station. It will impact the one that travels North of the substation to include businesses/residences along Hwy 109 up to and including Greystone Dr., Robbins Rd., Wallburg Rd., Reece Rd., Archie Yokely Rd., Ray Lanning Rd., Motsinger Rd., and Bradstone Rd. areas. The other circuit feeds south out of Wallburg and will affect Wallburg-High Point Rd., Mock Rd., Abbotts Creek Church Rd., VV Willard Rd., Harvey Teague Rd., Willoughby Park, Abbotts Grove Ct. Moore Rd., and Johnson Rd.
