Mountain Bike Trails

Roadies and DirtiesIn the 90s, a handful of dedicated mountain bikers began to build trails at Finch Park in Lexington in order to enjoy their favorite pastime. Eventually, for various reasons these trails became neglected.  With recent renewed interest in mountain biking in the area, trail advocates saw the potential to recover and modernize these trails. These riders joined together to form the Roadies and Dirties, a grassroots cycling club dedicated to increasing access to trails, cycling routes, and building a stronger cycling community.

Along with Parks and Recreation, a strategy was developed to update the trails into a system that would be accessible to multiple riding levels. High priority was placed on a beginner loop where new and less skilled riders can enjoy learning to mountain bike.  After completing initial work and opening multiple trails at Finch Park, attention was turned to Old City Lake and the creation of The Ridge Cycle Hub. The Ridge offers great flow, rewarding climbs, and fun berms to intermediate to advanced bikers.
